Job Description and Requirements:

The Inside Sales Representative provides expert guidance and product knowledge to customers within the Branch and over the phone. Through exceptional customer service and product recommendations, the Inside Sales Representative works toward exceeding the Branch Sales goals while building customer loyalty. This position works directly with customers to place special orders, create customer invoices, schedule deliveries and all associated follow-up within each of these steps. Other responsibilities may be assigned and additional training provided over time. This position reports to the Branch Manager.

Responsibilities specific to the Inside Sales Representative:

Welcome customers to the Branch and ask open ended questions to determine the scope of their projects and the associated products and service needed. Offer customer loyalty programs and credit account applications to all new and lapsed customers.

Provide expert guidance, product recommendations and answers to customer questions by continuously learning about the stock products offered at the Branch and all special-order products displayed in the showroom.

Respond to phone inquiries with the same level of exceptional service and expert guidance provided to customers within the Branch.

Effective communication including the use of common building material product names, jargon, and phrases, an understanding of the end use of stock building materials, and a working knowledge of the phases of construction.

Record accurate product details, quantities, measurements and all associated components needed to generate a customer quote; submit to estimating department as needed, and communicate finalized quotes to the customer.

Create customer invoices and Special Orders, ensuring all Purchase Orders have been reviewed and approved per company policy prior to creation. Ensure payment is collected and applied to customer invoices and orders per company policy, including required deposits and correct account billing.

Follow-up with Vendors and ensure timely updates are provided to customers regarding ordered products.

Enter all deliveries into the Dispatch Delivery Management System (DDMS) from the correct location and in the customer requested Date/Time block to ensure all deliveries are On-Time and In-Full.

Ensure all deliveries are correctly invoiced to match the product delivered on the date delivered.

 

Responsibilities of every Associate:

Enthusiasm to greet customers anywhere on the property.

Maintain a positive, productive work environment through friendly, respectful relationships with customers & co-workers.

Execution of daily operational duties including: product organization, store cleanliness and inventory cycle counts.

Keep all machinery, equipment, and tools clean and in good working order for safe usage.

Report all issues regarding safety, waste, damage, equipment, accidents or customer concerns promptly to a member of Management.

Inform Operations Manager promptly of suspected inventory shortage.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

Ability to write, read, and communicate in English

Prior sales experience in a related field – minimum of 1 year

Motivated, results driven, detail oriented, approachable, and customer-centric

Demonstrated ability to operate a cash register quickly and accurately including all POS and Delivery software applications.

Work a flexible schedule that includes weekends.
