JOINING THE GROUP

Our team continues to grow. We’ve added new managers and design specialists to several of our divisions so we can better serve our loyal customers throughout the tri-state area.

Evelyn Kutan will be a design consultant at the new Northeast Architectural Design Showroom in Mamaroneck, NY. Evelyn started her career as a fashion designer and over the years developed a passion for interior design, which she will now use at Northeast Architectural. Evelyn is excited to introduce customers to Cabbonet kitchen cabinetry, one of the newest manufacturers at Northeast Architectural. In her spare time, Evelyn enjoys figure skating and wakeboarding and can also be found at museums and galleries that showcase contemporary art.

Eric Croce has been hired as Store Manager at the Cornwall Bridge Home Center. Eric comes to us with many years of experience in grocery management before a recent transition to hardware management. Eric looks forward to guiding the team at the home center and working with the loyal customer base there. His favorite part of a hardware store is the paint department because he is able to work directly with customers and help them create colors they will use in their homes. When Eric is not working, he’s a self-taught guitarist who enjoys writing songs and performing live.

Liz Williams is joining our Kitchen Center division as a design specialist. She also started her career as a fashion designer before shifting into kitchen design where she says she discovered how much fun it was to piece together the heart of the home into a “beautiful and functional space.” Liz loves selling cabinets because they influence how the entire kitchen functions and feels. Liz insists she’s a killer Scrabble player but we’ll have to check with her husband and three sons for confirmation.

Andy Schmit is a new Branch Manager after spending more than 20 years working as a manager at retail giants Gap, Target, and Lowe’s. Andy is looking forward to being more creative and developing more of a connection with our customer base, especially in the lawn and garden area where he enjoys working with customers to create a unique project at their homes. Andy is a do-it-yourselfer at his own home but also likes to get outdoors to go rock climbing, hiking, and skiing. He’s also a big music fan and strives to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and artists.

VIVA LAS VEGAS!

The Northeast team once again attended the International Builders’ Show. This year’s event was held in Las Vegas, NV, and attracted building and construction professionals from all across the country.

Our team got to see displays and exhibits from more than 800 vendors that showed off the latest trends and technological advancements in the industry. We learned about new products and new construction techniques during daily educational sessions, and connected with industry leaders at a series of networking events. Check out this video to see more!

We learned a ton and can’t wait for next year’s show which will be back in Las Vegas.

NEW TO NORTHEAST

The Weed & Duryea Home Center in New Canaan, CT, will now be selling the Claymark Centurion line of finger-jointed primed pine trim boards. Centurion products can be used as external weatherboards and for other exterior uses.

Centurion products use a New Zealand radiata pine that has an extremely smooth finish. All Centurion products are treated with an environmentally compliant coating that carries a 50-year decay, rot and termite warranty.

The Claymark Centurion brand is becoming more popular in the construction community with architects and engineers calling for its use on plans. Weed & Duryea will have boards available in 16-foot lengths in a variety of widths.
